AI is not the only emerging divergent.

Predicting the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the future of humanity is complex.
There are many disrupting variables at play that may trigger significant change.
Consider the challenge of predicting the impact of anthropogenic activity on climate. Currently scientists are talking about environmental "tipping points" where run away changes disrupt the normal cycles. As the ice sheets melt and sea currents change what role, if any, will increased volcanic activity play in changing the climate?
The investment in Generative AI, rising geopolitical tension and increased spending on military are disrupting established norms in uncertain ways. Add the race for space genetic engineering and robotics and we have conditions for perhaps the greatest era of transformation for humanity.
I wrote "2101: Spark of Hope" to paint a picture of how an era of transformative change might play out. The potential for AI to greatly polarize beliefs is arguably the most dangerous threat to humanity. Staying inquisitive, engaged and connected to community will likely be a critical determinant in how the future takes shape.
Keep in mind that food security, or the lack there of, has consistently been a major factor in the collapse of previous highly developed civilizations. It's not too hard to imaging a phase of massive volcanism causing a global winter and its also possible that fusion technology becomes a practical reality.
Nothing in the future is ever certain.
